Academician Sang Yup Lee of Korea Institute of Science and Technology Gives Academic Report in ECUST 

Recently, Academician of the National Academy of Science and Engineering of Korea, Foreign Academician of the National Academy of Engineering of the United States, Foreign Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, expert of the high-efficiency “Intelligence” innovation and intelligence introduction base of microbial drugs of the Ministry of Education, and Professor Sang Yup Lee of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology were invited to give an academic report entitled “Systems metallic engineering of bacteria for chemicals and natural products” on the 36th  “Juntang Forum” of the State Key Laboratory of Bioreactor Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology.

In the report, Academician Sang Yup Lee systematically introduced the systematic metabolic engineering strategy for the development of microbial cell factories, and demonstrated the bio-based production of various products, including plastics, plastic monomers, fuels and natural products. With vivid language and rich cases, Academician Sang Yup Lee has presented to the audience the great driving role of systemic metabolic engineering in leading industrial change and supporting sustainable economic and social development, and providing useful guidance for the academic staff and students of ECUST to carry out teaching and scientific research. The academic staff and students present were actively engaged in the following questioning session.
